KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB partners with Avon

Tacloban City (December 3) -- Immediately after the November 8 signing of the Memorandum of Agreement at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City, Avon started to conduct personality development training and provided interested and qualified applicants in three KALAHI-CIDSS: KKB areas, access to micro-financing.

In the month of November, Avon Tacloban conducted training activities in Laoang and Palapag in Northern Samar and Balangiga, Eastern Samar.

The same training was also conducted November 24, this month in Hernani, Eastern Samar, Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8 Assistant Regional Director Jaime Eclavea informed. The instructions for personality development cover business etiquette, dressing appropriately for formal functions, proper application of make-up for women, and accessorizing for men and women.

ARD Eclavea said that during the training in Balangiga held November 17 Anya Marie Wenceslao, Branch Sales Trainer of Avon Tacloban, emphasized the need for barangay leaders to dress according to their position.

"But it does not mean that people have to buy expensive clothes, they have to dress appropriately for official occasions befitting their position as barangay leaders," Ms. Wenceslao said.

In the municipality of Palapag, Ms. Karina Araos, Avon Branch Sales Trainer, provided tips on the proper use of mobile phones in public places, and eating habits to avoid during formal functions.

As contained in the Memorandum of Agreement, Avon Tacloban will be conducting these activities in several more KALAHI-CIDSS municipalities where the company operates. The partnership was welcomed with a pleasant surprise for both men and women coming from different barangays in KALAHI-CIDSS municipalities, ARD. Eclavea said..

ARD Eclavea is confident that inputs of Avon Tacloban will not only help barangay constituents feel better and look better but they will be given the opportunity to earn extra income.
