Kalinga solon to spend birthday with school children

Tabuk, Kalinga (6 December) -- Lone District of Kalinga Representative Manuel S. Agyao have will be celebrating his 69th birthday on December 8, 2010 visiting school children in the province.

Sources from the Congressional District Office [CDO] said that the congressman decided to render community service to his constituents saying that this is the solon's "way of sharing all the blessings with the hope to inspire other people to do the same in their own little way."

CDO Coordinator and Information Officer Gary Damian said that the congressman will be visiting the "best performing schools in the province based on their National Achievement Test accomplishment."

The Department of Education [DepEd] Kalinga District has chosen and identified the schools to be visited for the congressman's three-day surgical, dental and medical mission activities that highlights his birthday celebration. Beneficiaries can also avail of free haircut and circumcision.

Identified schools to be visited are Butbut Elementary School (ES) in Tinglayan, Uma ES in Lubuagan, Balenciagao ES in Pasil, Balbalasang E/S of Balbalan, Tappo ES and Cawagayan ES in Pinukpuk, Pagugo ES in Tanudan, Liwan ES in Rizal and Cabaritan ES, Magsaysay ES, Bulo East ES, and Malin-awa ES in Tabuk. These schools will also be receiving school supplies and gifts from the congressman.

Damian said that around 3,000 pupils are expected to benefited from this event which will be conducted in partnership with the 21st Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army under the leadership of Lt. Col. Maning Tawantawan. (ggdumallig/PIA) [top]
