DTI-Quezon holds seminar on food safety and quality

Lucena City (6 December) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon Provincial Office has started today, Dec.06, the-three day seminar on food safety and quality at the conference room of DTI Office this city.
Eric Oliveros, DTI-Quezon Development Specialist said the participants in the seminar are food manufacturers of Quezon province. Oliveros also pointed out that the seminar aims to upgrade the present quality standard of Quezon's food manufacturers to level up the international standards.
Victor Martene, a volunteer adviser of the Canadian Executive Service Office (CESO) was the resource speaker in the seminar. Among the topics discussed are as follows: Developing a food defense plan for meat and poultry and slaughter processing plants; Ten Principles of Sanitary Design; Sanitary design and construction of food processing and handling facility.
After the seminar, a one on one consultation between the resource person and the Quezon's food manufacturers of coco products (coco jam, virgin coconut oil, coco sugar), Dory's lambanog of Candelaria, Quezon and other food manufacturers were held. (PIA Quezon) [top]
