Camarines Norte conducts 2010 Search for Child Friendly Barangay

Daet, Camarines Norte (6 December) -- The Evaluation for the 2010 Search for Child Friendly Barangay was conducted last month in this province.
The evaluation focused on the programs and projects concerning child protection, child health, maternal health, child participation, education, family practices and institution building.
The search is part of the program of the Sixth Country Programme for Children (CPC 6) of the Provincial Government funded by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in cooperation with the different line government agencies in this province.
The barangays who joined the contest include: the Ginatungan, Basud; Gahonon, Daet; Cayucyucan, Mercedes; San Ramon, San Lorenzo Ruiz; Calintaan, Talisay; Barangay 3, Vinzons; Caayunan, Labo and Pagasa, Jose Panganiban.
The barangay IV and Camambugan both in Daet were also evaluated for the Hall of Fame.
The winners will be awarded on December 16, 2010 and will receive cash prizes and plaque.
A first placer will receive 60,000; second palce, 40,000; for 3rd place is 30,000 while 20,000 and 10,000 for the 4th and 5th placer. A cash of 5,000 will be given for the non winning barangays and certificate of recognition.
For the hall of famer who maintained their programs for children will be given a plaque.
The said search is being conducted every year in this province since 2004. (PIA Camarines Norte) [top]
