Baguio City (12) -- In continuing the iSchools Project's efforts to conduct training programs that will allow public high school teachers to be confident in using ICT in education, a Sustainability Planning Workshop (SPW) Training of Trainers will be conducted on August 12-15, 2010 at Brentwood Village, Brent Road, Baguio City. The Sustainability Planning Workshop will be hosted by Benguet State University.
Monitoring and Evaluation team leader Leila Grace Ramos said, "This training is part of the iSchools series of capacity building efforts to help the teachers appreciate the value of ICT in their school."
Ramos elaborates that one end sought by the SPW is to "gather the support of not only the students, teachers and school administration but more importantly of the school community in maintaining the operations of the laboratories given to them."
Thus trained, the "teachers will be empowered to use the ICT infrastructure provided to them," she adds.
Project managers and SPW trainers from 37 partners State Universities and Colleges (SUC) will be undergo refresher courses on the methods and principles of laboratory sustainability. After the training, the trainers will in turn teach these concepts to the 320 public high school communities serviced by the iSchools Project.
It is intended that iSchools recipient schools would be able to apply all the concepts they learned in sustaining their own laboratories. In like manner, this workshop offers a simulation of the actual conduct of the SPW rollout and pre-testing of the SPW workbook materials. (CICT) [top]
