Laguna PNP opens Facebook account for "Laguna's Most Wanted Criminals"

Bay, Laguna (20 August) -- P/Supt. Gilbert Cruz, Laguna Philippine National Police (PNP) Director announced the launching recently of Laguna's Most Wanted Criminals Facebook account.

Cruz said tapping the internet as a medium of communication will help speed up soling crimes. He also said that there is a big possibility of tracing criminals even if they are hiding in far away places or even abroad since criminals are also communicating through the internet.

Likewise, Cruz launched another program to fight criminality in the province by setting up checkpoints in strategic locations targetting especially motorcycle-riding public.

At checkpoints, motorists are required to present original receipt and certificate of registration in order to protect them or recover stolen motorcycles. Owners who present original documents are given specialized stickers with corresponding control numbers.

PD Cruz calls for public support and cooperation of PNP Laguna's programs to fight criminality. (PIA Laguna) [top]
