ASEAN media visits Seoul

Jakarta (3 December) -- Twenty seven ASEAN journalists recently concluded their seven-day visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) under a media exchange visit project between ASEAN and the ROK in order to raise awareness of deepening cooperation between both sides.

The journalists, from both the print and electronic media, met the Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, Mr Cho Young Jai, and Vice Governor of Jeju's Special Self-Governing Province, Mr Yang Jo-hoon.

They also visited the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the ROK's Rural Development Administration (RDA) and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). The Korea Forest Service (KFS), the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and the Jeju International Convention Center were also on their itinerary. The media visit ran from 22 to 28 November 2009.

The visit follows the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit held in June 2009 in Jeju Island, ROK, following the 20th anniversary of ASEAN-ROK dialogue relations. (ASEANSec) [top]
