Leyte NSO enlists in 17th national stat month fete

Tacloban City (October 2) -- The Leyte Provincial Office of the National Statistics Office (NSO) in Region 8 will once again participate in the celebration of National Statistics Month in October.

This was announced by Provincial Statistics Officer Wilma Perante who revealed that the Leyte Provincial Statistics Office will be conducting activities relevant to this year's theme: "Empowering Consumers through Responsive Energy Statistics."

Perante informed that this is in consonance with the Presidential Proclamation No.647 which declared the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month.

She said that among the activities which the Leyte Statistics Office will be conducting are the statistical exhibit, statistics trivia through media, trainings for computer literacy and data analysis and a series of NSO awareness for a in public and private schools and other offices.

These activities, she said are in answer to the call of the Regional Statistics Coordination Board under the chairmanship of NEDA 8 Director Buenaventura Gosoco, for all government agencies to commemorate the Statistics Month with relevant activities.

Ms. Perante is enjoining the general public to participate in the different activities of the Provincial Statistics Office. For further information, she encourages the public to contact the Provincial Statistics Office through telephone numbers (053) 321-2119 and (053) 523-0093.
