Local dengue task force reactivated in Abra

BANGUED, Abra (2 October) -- The 74 admissions and a casualty of suspected dengue cases prompted the provincial board fast track the passage of a provincial resolution urging all the local chief executives in the 27 municipalities to reactivate their local dengue task forces.
The resolution signed last September 27 urged the task forces to sustain, intensify and vigorously implement their respective dengue prevention and control program.
In an interview with Dr. Ramon O. Dickson, SP Member and Chair of the SP Committee on Health, he emphasized the importance of good health which is could be attained thru healthy lifestyle and clean environment.
Dickson also reiterated the provisions of Executive Order No. 035, series of 2001 issued by Governor Vicente P. Valera which provided for the formation of the Provincial Dengue Task Force chaired by Bangued Mayor & League of Municipalities Chapter President, Ma. Zita C. Valera. The EO also provided for the regular daily cleaning activities in all houses and their environment.
In addition, all public and private offices, the business establishments, households and schools are enjoined to conduct a simultaneous cleaning every Friday at 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning and/or at 3:00 - 5:00 in the afternoon.
Dickson assured that he will take initiatives to monitor the implementation of the health programs and projects to ensure effective service delivery system in the province. (PIA-Abra) [top]
