LAGAWE, Ifugao (2 October) -- Government employees from the provincial government and national line agencies converged at the Provincial Capitol Compound to celebrate the 106th Civil Service Month.
With the theme " Katapatan Ng Lingkod Bayan….. Pahalagahan", the month-long celebration kicked off with a tree planting activity at the Centennial Forest participated in by different agencies/offices. A sports activity followed which made way to a plan of conducting and organizing sports and dance groups to maintain healthy lifestyle of employees.
Dr. Eusebia Guyguyon, President of the Medical Association, Ifugao Chapter and guest of honor, poke on how employees can maintain a healthy lifestyle to be able to perform their duties well and to be able to serve the agencies with quality service.
Provincial Board Member, Atty. Eugene Ballitang, meanwhile, said that in government service or in any endeavor we take, here is always a better way whether in the system of doing our ways or in doing our work in office.
There are two kinds of civil servants, he said. One is the "working hard" employee who starts hard work early and the other is "hardly working" employee who hates the approach of Mondays because it signals the start of work.
This is a corrupt attitude which needs change. And now is the time to change, he said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
