ILAGAN, Isabela (2 October) -- To push its vow in prioritizing health program in the province, Governor Ma. Gracia Cielo Padaca renewed the enrollment of more than 97,000 poor Isabelino families, covering about 485,000 beneficiaries under the sponsored program of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) being managed by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC).
Known as the "Medicare para sa Masa", the PhilHealth's program ensures eligible families access to social health benefits delivered by accredited hospitals, doctors, and RHUs.
Isabelinos who are enrolled with the health program are entitled to Out-Patient Benefit Package which is rendered by the Isabela's District hospitals.
From its initial implementation in July 2005-June 2006, a total claimed benefit of P26.7 million was processed and released by PhilHealth for Isabela beneficiaries.
The Local Government Units of Burgos, Luna, Cabatuan, Delfin Albano, Mallig, Naguilian, Quezon, Quirino, Santa Maria, Santiago City and Divilican also enrolled their constituents under the PhilHealth's "Medicare para sa Masa" program. The LGUs used part of their Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) to enroll their constituents. (PIA-Isabela) [top]
