BUTUAN CITY (October 2) -- In celebration of the 106th Philippine Civil Service anniversary, the Regional Office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) here is set to offer programs that will help workers in the government enhance their skills and develop productivity to better serve the people.
In a statement, CSC Caraga Regional Director Adams Torres said the law mandates a continuing development program for all government workers at all levels in the bureaucracy to create an environment or work climate conducive to the development of personnel skills, talents and values for better service.
To pursue this mandate, CSC-Caraga offers live-out training interventions for the month of October, 2006. These include the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Module 6 which is recommended to update the supervisor's knowledge and skills in responding to the supervisory requirements of the job. Another is the Values Orientation Workshop (VOW) designed to enhance the participants' ethical and moral values, imbue right attitude and greater sense of commitment and dedication to public service, and the Defensive Driving for government Drivers that will introduce ways to improve quality service towards work that would spell success in the field of driving.
According to Dir. Torres, target participants for SDC are employees currently performing or about to perform supervisory or managerial roles while VOW is intended for middle managers and rank and file employees coming from Local Government Units (LGUs) including Barangay Officials and Employees, National Government Agencies (NGAs), Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) including State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) throughout Caraga Region, while the defensive driving seminar for government drivers is designed for all driver-employees in government offices (LGUs, NGAs, GOCCs, and SUCs).
Registration fee is at Php 1,200, Php 2,800, and Php 2,000, respectively for SDC, VOW and Defensive Driving that will cover direct expenses for venue accommodation, catering services for one meal and two snacks daily per training duration and other incidental expenses.
