Mayor Emano gives all-out support to senior citizens
Cagayan de Oro City (2 October) -- As Cagayan de Oro joins the whole nation in the celebration of the National Older Persons Week, City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano assured the senior citizens sector in the city his full support to their organization.
Emano declared this during the opening of the week-long celebration at the City Hall grounds. This year's celebration is centered on the theme, "Nakatatanda-Kaagapay ng Pagkakaisa at Kalayaan."
The city chief executive is grateful for the members of the senior citizens for making Cagayan de Oro into what it is today even as he vowed to do his best to be of service to them.
Emano said that the city's senior citizens are the heroes, the builders, the educators, the homemakers and the breadwinners who have labored so hard to put in place a city that has experienced a tremendous economic progress through the years.
The week-long celebration started today with a holy mass, then a caravan around the city which was participated in by the 90 chapters of the Cagayan de Oro City Federation of Senior Citizens Associations (CAFESCA).
Free medical services will be offered on October 5 and 6 at the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Building near the City Health Office and they can also go to the German Doctors Hospital.
The activity will culminate at Lim Ket Kai center on the 6th were various activities were prepared for the members. (City Information Office/RAGCOM) [top]
