Energy stat, best practices, focus of today's nat'l stat month opening ceremonies
Tacloban City (October 2) -- Energy Statistics Updates, Leyeco II Best Practices and International Standardization Program of the National Power Corporation will be the highlights in today's opening ceremonies in connection with the National Statistics Month celebration.
NEDA 8 Director Buenaventura Gosoco, Jr. who is the Regional Statistics Coordination Committee, said that the NSM Opening Ceremonies will be held at the NEDA Regional Office No. 8 at the Government Center, Palo, Leyte at 1:30 in the afternoon.
He said that in order to highlight the importance of energy statistics in national and countryside development, the opening ceremonies will focus on International Standardization Program of the National Power Corporation.
The Leyte II Electric cooperative will also present its Best Practices to serve as an inspiration and as an example to other electric cooperatives, Director Gosoco informed.
Another presentation will dwell on the Energy Statistics Updates, Director Gosoco added. This is in keeping with this year's theme, "Empowering Consumers Through Responsive Energy Statistics."
The Opening Ceremonies will be hosted by the National Power Corporation Regional Office in Tongonan, Ormoc City, Director Gosoco informed.
The Opening Program is expected to be attended by the heads of various government agencies, energy-related government corporations and entities and local government units together with the agency statisticians.
Various activities are expected to be conducted by the different local government units and government agencies during the month of October in order to highlight the importance of Statistics in national and countryside development. (PIA 8) [top]
