NVizcaya entrepreneurs earn P7.1M from trade fair in metropolis
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (3 October) -- Members of the Nueva Vizcaya Entrepreneurs Association (NVEA) recently earned P7.1 million in cash sales from their participation to the One Town, One Project (OTOP) trade fair in Metro Manila.
Lenore Lee Lopez, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) information officer here said the NVEA also recorded booked orders amounting to P19.56 million.
Dubbed Nueva Vizcaya Goes to Alabang Trade Fair which is now on its 4th year is an annual marketing event organized by the DTI here in cooperation with the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya.
The event offers an opportunity for various Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the province to showcase their assorted products and promote the ingenuity of Novo Vizcayanos.
The fair featured the distinct OTOP projects in the province such as the citrus of Kasibu town, processed vegetables of Bayombong town, Tupig of Solano town, highland vegetables of Kayapa town, the wonder rootcrop 'Yacon' of Dupax del Norte and the gifts and holiday decors of Sta. Fe town. The fair also showcased furniture producers as well as growers of wild orchids and bonsais in the province.
The event also served as the launching pad of the Provincial Identity Seal which will be used by the entrepreneurs in the province to distinguish Nueva Vizcaya products from other products in the country.
The NV Goes to Alabang Trade Fair was supported by the provincial economic development committee under the 20 percent development fund of the provincial government through the leadership of governor Luisa Cuaresma. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
