Tampakan joins 106th Civil Sevice month celebration

Tampakan, South Cotabato (3 October) -- The municipal government of Tampakan led by Mayor Cladius G. Barroso celebrated the 106th civil service month with a sports competition, dubbed as "Palaro Dream Academy".

Held at the mini-forest ground of this town on September 26, this year's celebration focused on the theme, "Karapatan ng lingkod Bayan…Pangalagaan".

Through the initiative of Administrative Officer IV Ronaldo R. Magno assited by Tampakan Municipal Government Employees Organization (TMGEO) President Oscar Wong, the celebration was highlighted with various activities such as volleyball, modified softball, patentero, tug of war and indigenous games.

Municipal administrator Bienvenido F. Barroso who gave the inspirational message encouraged the employees to participate in the games as a time to relax, a time to rekindle the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the employees of the municipal government.

He reminded the employees of their duties and responsibilities as civil service employees to serve the public with honesty and integrity.

The opening of the program of the 106th civil service was graced by the presence of Mayor Claudio G. Barroso who administered the oath of sportsmanship and witnessed the ceremonial lightning of the torch.

The week-long activity was culminated by a tree-planting activity at the observatory post at Natures Park in barangay Lambayog in time of the signing of the memorandum of agreement between the local government unit of Tampakan, Sagittarius Mines Incorporated, Department of Environment and natural resources, Tampakan Municipal government employee's organization and the owner of the land.

The over-all winners of the sports competition are as follows: Team1 1st place with a total score of 160 points; Team2 2nd place with 150 points; Team 4 3rd places with 140 points; team 3 with 105 points. (PIA 12) [top]
