Gov't vows to pursue peace process with MILF
Manila (3 October) -- "The government shall continue to pursue all means to keep the prospects of peace up based on principled negotiations and affirmative action to resolve conflict."
Thus said Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye, adding that the government's negotiating panel is quietly working on a position that will hopefully break the impasse and move the talks forward.
The Palace expressed appreciation for both sides for working hard to find common ground as well as the role of Malaysia as a facilitator and host of the peace talks.
Likewise, Bunye cited the support of all stakeholders and revealed confidence that Mindanao and the entire Philippines will have the lasting peace they deserve.
"We know that the international community is watching this process very closely and the people themselves are anticipating a path forward," so added Bunye. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
