Photo release: Iloilo holds "Piyesta sa Kakahuyan"

Iloilo City (3 October) -- The province recently conducted its annual "Piyesta sa Kakahuyan" tree-planting activity where Mayor Robin Solinap of Dingle, Iloilo and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Valentin Talabero led participants in various environment-promotion activities.
Meanwhile, PNP VI Director and Regional Disaster Coordinating Council Chairman, PCSUPT. Geary Barias told a press briefing yesterday that 2,045.26 metric tons of oil debris were collected in the continuing clean-up operations in Guimaras province.
7th Piyesta sa Kakahuyan
 Mayor Robin Solinap of Dingle, Iloilo and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Valentin Talabero share to the participants of the recent 7th "Piyesta sa Kakahuyan", an annual tree planting activity of the provincial government, the wonders and riches of the Bulabog-Putian National Park, the venue of the event this year. Bulabog-Putian is popularly known as the "living museum" of flora & fauna and hosts to more or less 33 caves. Its declaration including part of its sorrounding barangays as eco-tourism area through Congressional Bill No. 1651 is now for subsequent study and approval into law by the Senate. (PIA 6) |
