Statement of Secretary Ignacio R. Bunye Re: Peace Process
Manila (3 October) -- The government shall continue to pursue all means to keep the prospects of peace up based on principled negotiations and affirmative action to resolve conflict.
Our negotiating panel is quietly working on a position that will hopefully break the impasse and move the talks forward.
We appreciate both sides for working hard to find common ground as well as the role of Malaysia as a facilitator and host of the peace talks.
We know that the international community is watching this process very closely and the people themselves are anticipating a path forward.
We appreciate the support of all stakeholders and we are confident that Mindanao and the entire Philippines will have the lasting peace they deserve. (OPS) [top]
