Surigao Sur officials expressed support for Charter change

by Primo Martho L. Oyan

Tandag, Surigao del Sur (October 5) -- Surigao del Sur Governor Vicente Pimentel, Jr., and vice Governor Librado Navarro openly expressed strong support to the Charter Change.

Gov. Pimentel said he and Vice Gov. Navarro even attended the national conference sponsored by ULAP on Charter Change.

Vice Gov. Navarro on the other hand proposed small group discussions so that the issue could be fully understood by their constituents.

Both Surigao del Sur provincial officials strongly suggested massive info dissemination should be held even in schools.

Both officials added that issues, not only in shifting from presidential to parliamentary form of government but also those that need to be amended in the constitution and other concerns that are beneficial to the people should also be discussed in the proposed information-dissemination activities.
