PUM Dutch senior experts to meet with Filipino entrepreneurs

Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City (5 October) -- PUM Netherlands Senior Experts will be holding a PUM Business Conference on October 26, 2006 at 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City, Philippines. This event aims to gather representatives from trade and industry associations, and business support organizations in the private and public sectors that help enabl. On this afternoon PUM will introduce its technical support and services to the Southern Mindanao business community.

PUM is an organization of more than 4,000 Dutch entrepreneurs, managers and specialists who have recently retired or sold their company and are willing to offer their expertise free of charge to fellow entrepreneurs. They go on missions to assist companies in other countries based on their many years of experience and knowledge in a wide variety of fields, such as agriculture, industry and trade, but also in the fields of health care, management and public sector services.

By providing direct, personal advice to companies and institutions, PUM aims to help foster the development of a social market economy in the countries involved. Aside from Asia, PUM experts are sent on request to countries in Africa, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. The number of missions is now around 2,000 a year.

Country Coordinator for the Philippines, Mr. Ton Hens, and visiting PUM Expert Mr. Wim Dekkers, will illustrate how a PUM mission works; and some companies and organizations PUM has assisted will share their experiences. This conference hopes to explore possibilities of technical cooperation between SMEs and business support organizations. (SME/PIA 12) [top]
