RP economy on extended bull run – Palace

Manila (5 October) -- “The economy is on an extended bull run and we are confident that the people can keep the pace going until we finally achieve economic takeoff.”

So said Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye in a regular media briefing in Malacañang.

Bunye believes “the positive outlook across various sectors both here and abroad backed up by our improving economic indicators speak well of the things to come.”

Hence, he called on the Filipino people to sustain the momentum by upholding excellence, productivity and unity that will assure their fair share of the benefits of growth.

Meanwhile, the Palace – though expressing concern for the export industry over the continued strength of the peso – as a policy, is leaving the issue to market forces to determine the true value of the currency.

“Nevertheless, the economic team is on top of concrete measures to assist the export sector, balance out the situation and maintain a business environment that would spur more jobs and better infrastructure,” Bunye added. (PIA—MMIO) [top]
