Arroyo visits neighbors
Quezon City (5 October) -- AFTER making the rounds of areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces battered by typhoon Milenyo last week, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo set her sights close to home, visiting residents within the Malacaņang complex and chatting with a few mothers.
The area, covered by Barangay 644, Zone 66, suffered no major damage during the typhoon, except for fallen trees.
Arroyo also assured her neighbors that basic services -- such as the Botica ng Barangay and rolling stores that sell cheap rice and noodles -- are available to them.
She also told them they can still avail of X-ray, laboratory, and dialysis services from the Malacaņang Clinic even if its other services have been transferred to the Presidential Security Group compound. (PIA) [top]
