Senate unproductive for third day
Quezon City (5 October) -- FOR a third straight day, the Senate was unproductive after it adjourned its session on Thursday for lack of quorum.
The day's session, scheduled to start 10 a.m. to tackle the bills creating additional congressional districts in Marikina and Navotas, came to a close shortly after when Senator Franklin Drilon noted that there was no quorum.
Drilon complained about the lack of quorum as he quickly finished the budget hearing of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The aborted session came a day after Wednesday night's minority filibuster against the anti-terror bill, which sidelined other items on the agenda, and Tuesday night's verbal tussle between Senator Juan Ponce-Enrile and Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. (PIA) [top]
