Valencia mayor supports 'billboard ban'

Cagayan de Oro City (6 October) -- "The City government of Valencia is one with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the 'Billboard Ban' issue," said Mayor Jose M. Galario, Jr.

He said the City Engineer's Office of Valencia has started to eliminate hazardous billboards in the area and specified safe places within its boundaries. Galario added that the city is in the process of cleaning its streets of risks, in line with its clean and green program.

"This problem demands a sense of responsibility among billboard owners and advertisers for mapping out of safety measures to protect the public," he stressed. (PIA 10) [top]
