Iligan welcomes 3rd batch of IMT for GRP-MILF peace process

Cagayan de Oro City (6 October) -- Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Li. Cruz welcomed the 3rd batch of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) for the GRP-MILF Peace Process headed by Maj. Gen. Dato Ismail of the Malaysian Mission when they arrived in the City recently.

Mayor Cruz expressed his appreciation to Ismail for choosing Iligan as the host city for the third time and for making it a common ground for GRP-MILF peace negotiations. "Holding the meeting in our city would depict the good relationship of our Christian and Muslim residents," he added.

Together with the monitoring team are Brig. Gen. Edgardo Gurrea, representing the Coordinating Committee for the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), and Von Alhaq of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). (PIA 10) [top]
