Santo Tomas recognizes deserving LGU staff and employees
Davao City (7 October) -- The Municipal Government of Sto. Tomas gave due recognition to deserving staff and employees in celebration of the 106th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, which was held at the Municipal Plaza, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.
The affair was graced by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Maximo M. Estela, MD., Hon. Danie;l A. Lu, MD., Municipal Officials and Department Head and the CSC Personnel Specialist, Mr. Edesio Baulos. Highlight to this event, was the awarding of plaques of recognition to two of the department heads namely: Engr. Rey L. Sagot, MPA, Municipal Engineer and Edelmira M.Recto, MPA, Municipal Civil Registrar. The two were recognized for having completed their Graduate studies as Masters in Public Administration Major in Organizational Studies and Major in Fiscal Administration respectively.
Sagot and Recto both had their doctorate studies at University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City.
Deserving staff and employees from different departments were also given Certificates of Recognition for their commendable work in their different line of work. Loyalty Awards were also given to all staff and employees that has served the public for 10-35 years, including Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars from the nineteen (19) barangays.
They were cited for their relentless and untiring service to the constituents even with a honorarium as low as P 300.00 depending on the budget allotted to them by the barangay they are serving.
Mr. Edesio Baulos, of the CSC cited that an activity like this which gives due recognition to the public servants that have done their best in serving the public. And those that has dedicated their life in public service will entice other government employees to give more their best in putting in action the program of Civil Service Commission "Mamayan Muna."
"The public then will be served well and in return we will have a supportive community willing to assist the government in attaining its goals and programs implemented," Baulos said.
On the other hand, Mayor Estela said in his speech said that " the focus of being a public servant is the public and not once self and the oath of public service should be put into practice and not just uttered". (MIO - Sto. Tomas, DDN) [top]
