This was learned from Mr. Orlando Uy, the president of the Leyte Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who said that some of the members of the Chamber have already confirmed their attendance to the biggest annual business conference in the country which brings together business managers and executives around the country for a week-long conference to promote Philippine business and new opportunities in the local and global markets.

Mr. Uy said that the local businessmen look forward to the annual conference because of the impressive lineup of business activities like the two CEO Forums focusing on first, the emergence of sunrise industries in the country, and second, on winning the global market. Featured sunrise industries include Tourism, Beauty and Wellness, Fashion, Healthcare, ICT, Mining, Construction and Property, and Agro-Industry. There will be several breakout sessions, business matching and exhibits, as well as sponsors and product road show presentations.

Mr. Uy added that the conference will also feature a dialogue between business leaders and government economic managers. Topics include investments and competitiveness, taxation and fiscal reforms, and energy. A video presentation on the Asean Business Summit will be shown during the conference. The highlight of the PBC is the presentation of resolutions that summarize business and government’s program of action for 2007.
