Electric coop leads Statistics Month celebration
Lagawe, IFUGAO (9 October) -- With the theme "Empowering Consumers thru Responsive Energy Statistics", the Ifugao Electric Cooperative (IFELCO) leads the Statistics Month- long celebration this October.
Institutional Services Department Manager and concurrent Administrative Officer Jovita Allaga said the month long activity which was supposed to be spearheaded by the Department of Energy was instead given to IFELCO as the only energy provider in the province.
Allaga disclosed that as to the statistical data on electrification, there is a 100% electrification of all municipalities in the province with the municipality of Tinoc using solar energy. The solar energy is not as bright as the light provided by electric current, but IFELCO is pleased of being able to provide for the electric needs of this far flung municipality.
She explained that the cooperative is faced with consumer- caused problems which contributes to the 14% systems loss. These problems which consumers carry out knowingly or unknowingly are the causes of power disruption which are always blamed on the cooperative. These include cutting of trees near electric lines, use of unbalance load , and intentional hanging of wood on lines
Despite the many challenging problems, the cooperative hopes to impart to consumers some energy conservation tips during a scheduled forum as a show of concern to their members.
We do not only think of our gain but on how to provide satisfactory electric services to our member consumers in the whole area of coverage," Allaga said. Jina Shirley G. Dacmay(PIA-Ifugao) [top]
