NBI defers release of findings on nursing exam leak
Quezon City (9 October) -- DESPITE Malacaņang's order, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will not release the final result of its investigation on the nursing board exam leakage this Monday, an official said.
Lawyer Elfren Meneses, NBI anti-fraud chief, said more evidence was being gathered and more witnesses wanted to testify.
"Many witnesses are still coming to us offering information. We cannot just ignore them. We need to be as thorough as possible with our findings," Meneses told reporters.
"These subjects of our investigation have their own lawyers too and they will try to discredit our findings. We do not want to give them any opportunity to do so," he added.
But Meneses assured the public that the final result of their inquiry would be released before October 15.
Malacaņang has ordered the NBI to release the results of their investigation this Monday.
The NBI findings would be used by the Palace as basis for deciding either a complete or partial retake of the nursing licensure exams that were held last June. (PIA) [top]
