Quezon City (10 October) -- Philippine delegate Jennifer Ribultan emerged second place in the recently-concluded 3rd ASEAN Quiz held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last September.
Ribultan, of Ilocos Sur National High School, successfully finished number two in the individual category after competing with delegates from other ASEAN member-countries.
Ribulatan earned a place in the top three spots in the competition on September 17 at the Grand Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The competition was in the form of a written quiz divided into two sections: objective questions and a short essay on the ASEAN Vision 2020 declaration and the challenges in achieving it.

The winners were determined on the number of correct answers in the objective questions, while the short essay was used to break the tie between contestants with the same score in the first part of the quiz.
Ribultan came in close after Afida Liyana bin Yahana of Malaysia, the overall champion of the 3rd ASEAN Quiz, while Mya Thida Win of Myanmar came in third.
Ribultan brought home with her US$500 (approximately Php25,000) a trophy and a certificate, along with honors to the Philipines, once again proving that Filipinos have what it takes to win. (PIA) [top]
