RP gov't working double time to sharpen governance
Manila (11 October) -- Despite the expected steady increase of foreign direct investments due to fiscal improvements, the Arroyo government remains on the double to sharpen governance to attract more investments through aggressive campaign against grafters, the rationalization of the bureaucracy and the reduction of red tape at all levels.
In a press briefing, Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye said the present administration is also undertaking a full-scale computerization of all government transactions to further reduce face to face contacts, including a robust e-procurement program.
Likewise, the Palace is seriously taking note of the concerns raised by investors and vows that these will not fall on deaf ears.
Bunye, meanwhile, expressed appreciation and anticipation of constructive suggestions of the business sector that would help improve country's operations. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
