Arroyo orders security forces to hunt down Mindanao bombers
Quezon City (11 October) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered police, military, local government units, and the ceasefire committees of the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to hunt down the perpetrators of the Mindanao bombings.
At the same time, Arroyo sympathized with the families of the victims.
"The government will make sure that the perpetrators are hunted down and brought to justice," Arroyo's spokesman Ignacio Bunye said in a statement.
"We are also asking the GRP-MILF ceasefire committees and joint action group to assist in the identification and interdiction of the bombers," Bunye said.
Arroyo has also put the local government units on alert and directed them to implement their respective contingency and anti-terrorism networks and plans.
"The fight against terror is everybody's business. We have faced these threats in the past and we shall continue to neutralize them with full public vigilance and participation," Bunye said. (PIA) [top]
