109 beneficiaries avail of DSWD Iligan's SEA-K program
Cagayan de Oro City (12 October) -- About P1.3 million in capital assistance has been given to 109 beneficiaries under the Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and implemented by the Iligan City SWD.
The beneficiaries are comprised of two groups, the Green Hills Women Association of Suarez and the Bayug Island Sea Group. In addition, several individuals with earnings below the poverty threshold also benefited.
Grace Joy Saquilabon, CSWD Department head, said the amount released was used to finance Candy and Sardines Making by the women's group, which helped augment their family income.
Saquilabon added that the women's group that went into sardine production are now classified as second level, which means they were successful in handling their business financed by the first release of SEA-K funding. (PIA-Iligan) [top]
