8 gov't agencies complete implementation of rationalization plans
Tacloban City (October 12) -- The Administration is serious about the Rationalization of government agencies and other government institutions. In fact there have been more or less eight government entities which has implemented their rationalization plans.
This was the pronouncement of DBM Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. during the Press Conference conducted by the Philippine Information Agency yesterday held after the launching of the PX Commissary at the DBM Regional Office 8.
Secretary Andaya said that even the Office of the Press Secretary has submitted the office's rationalization plan. This is a clean manifestation that the government is serious in the implantation of Rationalization in the bureaucracy.
He revealed that Civil Service Commission was among the first to implement its rationalization plan and that all those who availed of the RAT plan have been given what was due them from the government.
Secretary Andaya assured the media of Tacloban and Leyte that there is budget for the rationalization of government agencies and that there is no reason for the government to fear that they might not be given their compensation.
The Department of Budget and Management has been tasked to review the proposed rationalization plan of the government entities. Secretary Andaya said that currently, the DBM is reviewing some of the proposals submitted by several agencies.
Unfortunately, he said, the Rationalization Program of the Administration is taking so long, thus, he called on the national government entities to submit their rationalization plans as soon as possible.
The Rationalization of the Functions and Agencies of the Executive Branch is embodied in the Executive Order Number 366 signed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in order to improve government service delivery and productivity. (PIA 8) [top]
