Arroyo admin resolved to investigate electric price manipulation
Manila (13 October) -- In its resolve to uncover the truth behind the alleged electric power price manipulation, the Arroyo administration vowed that a rigid investigation shall be conducted to surface the culprits behind the issue.
“The people can rest assured that no stone would be left unturned in the investigation of the alleged price manipulation. Energy remains a vital tool in achieving economic stability.”
So stressed Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye, adding that “President Arroyo and the entire energy team are at the forefront of protecting the interest and welfare of the public especially when it comes to electricity, as the people deserve no less than the maximum and fair benefit from a free market.”
Meantime, the government will not stop in its search for alternative sources and all other means to relieve the socioeconomic pressures arising from fluctuating oil prices.
In a related development, Bunye expressed appreciation for both houses of Congress for passing the biofuels bill – to pave the way for other alternative sources of energy –as the nation look forward to the passage of other vital measures that will dramatically lessen our country’s dependence on imported energy.
