South Cotabato endorses P113-M annual investment plan
Koronadal, South Cotabato (13 October) -- The Provincial Development Council (PDC) recently approved and endorsed for legislative action the province’s Annual investment Plan (AIP) for calendar year (CY) 2007.
Governor Daisy P. Avance Fuentes, PDC Chair presented the 2007 AIP to the council composed of municipal mayors, provincial board members, local business leaders, the academe, religious groups, representatives of non-government organizations and people’s organizations, and other sectors.
The AIP which amounted to P 113,402,840 has four components, namely: Human Development –P29,876,483, Economic Development –P10539,168, Infrastructure development –P70,000,000 and Development Administration –P2987,189.
The infrastructure Development component which is again this year’s topnotcher has been allotted for repair and maintenance of provincial roads and bridges (P20,000,000), infrastructure support for effective delivery of services (P30,000,000), construction, repair, rehabilitation of farm to market roads, bridges, flood control and other infrastructure facilities (P5,000,000), Barangay Energization Program (P1,000,000), Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (P2,000,000), Rural Development Support Infrastructures (P3,000,000), Counterpart to foreign-assisted projects (P7,000,000) and Infrastructure for Lake Sebu Tourism Project –Phase II (P2,000,000).
For the Human Development component which got the second spot for budget allocation of P29,876,483 is divided into the following: Integrated Health Services program (P2,615,000), Social Welfare and Development (P5,324,883), Public Employment and Services program (P3,455,740), Tourism Development and Promotions (P1,673,00) Arts, Culture and Museum Support program (P1,561,100), Barangay Assistance program (P 5,000,000) and Kabugwason-Paglaum Scholarship Program (P9,000,000).
Under the Economic Development component, Agricultural Development Services got P 2,666,934, the Operation and Maintenance of the Provincial Scion Grove, Demo Farm and Laboratory is allotted P 1,174165, the Integrated Livestock & Poultry Development Program got P 4,401,109 while the Operation of the Productivity & technology Center, and Trade and Investment Promotions is allocated P2,296,960.
For the Development Administration component, the Support to local and other Special Bodies and the Operation of Information and Communication Technology is allocated P1,327,669 and P1,659,520, respectively.
Last year’s AIP amounted to P 98 million or an increase of more than P 15 million compared for this year’s AIP. (FCS/PIA 12) [top]
