President commends House members for early okay of proposed 2007 budget
Quezon City (14 October) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo commended today members of the House of Representatives for their swift and overwhelming approval of the P1.126 trillion proposed national budget for 2007.
"I commend the political will of the House of Representatives for the swift passage of the proposed budget for 2007 on a vision anchored on economic growth, political stability and social reforms," the President said in a statement.
She pointed out that the 2007 national appropriations is a key element in the fight against poverty and consolidates the fruits of tough economic reforms instituted by her administration.
The House-approved budget proposal will go to the Senate for its consideration. (PIA) [top]
