NVizcaya observes civil service month with gift-giving for the poor
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (16 October) -- The office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC)here recently conducting gift giving activity for indigent families in the province in the celebration of Civil Service month in September with the theme “Katapatan ng Lingkod Bayan, Pahalagahan.”
Joseph Paggao, civil service provincial director said they have thought of the activity, providing gifts to more than 200 indigent patients at the Veterans Regional Hospital here supported by representatives of the more than 800 employees of the provincial government.
“When a motorcade was suggested, I thought it would be better if we just use the money to buy goods to be distributed to the poor rather than spend much for gasoline just to tell everyone that we have a celebration. And seeing the faces of the people as they accept our simple gifts, the sense of fulfillment is immeasurable,” Paggao explained.
He added that a week-long “Tiangge” was also held at the provincial capitol grounds here to provide employees the opportunity to display and sell their products coupled with a series of livelihood trainings on pressurized fish, longaniza, embotido and tocino making. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
