Quezon holds forum on cooperatives

Lucena City (17 October) -- In connection with the celebration of Cooperative Month this October, a symposium was organized by the Quezon Fedration and Union Cooperative and the Provincial Cooperative Development Council at the Benigno S. Aquino Social Hall, Governor's Mansion Compound this city from October 16-17, 2006.
According to Mr. Daniel Villena of the Quezon Federation and Union Cooperative, the symposium was aim at informing the Board of Directors and members of each cooperative in this province on some amendments or guidelines in the operation of a cooperative.
Villena remarked that there are about 1,187 registered cooperatives in Quezon province with about 98,429 members of which they should be oriented of the newly amended guidelines. One of the objective of the cooperative is to help each member in time of needs by providing them financial loan with the lowest interest possible.
Guest speaker on the said occasion was Ms. Nelia Onte, CDA - Region IV-A Cooperative Specialist.
In an interview conducted by Ruel M. Orinday of PIA-Quezon, Villena said that the province of Quezon will host next year's Cooperative Month and is expecting more participants from the 10 provinces of Region-IV. (PIA-Quezon) [top]
