BIR intensifies tax campaign in NVizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (18 October) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has intensified its tax generation activities in a bid to increase their collections for this year.

Lawyer Nerissa Agraam, revenue district officer said various interviews on local radio stations and TV networks in the province have been lined up in the succeeding months to draw support and action from several taxpayers.

From these tax campaign activities, a TV program dubbed “Ikaw at ang BIR” is also being conducted every Wednesdays to inform the general public on their responsibilities as taxpayers and other BIR programs.

Agraam said a series of seminars for college students are also in the pipeline including tax briefings on new registrants to educate them on various BIR programs and activities.

She said that their office hopes to generate more taxes with the continuing tax campaigns and activities his year.

Based on their report, BIR has accomplished 62.39 percent or P172,446,477.69 of their 2006 target of P276,411,000 as of August this year.

Their cumulative collection for August this year is P172,446,477.69 which increased with 7.68 percent from their cumulative collection of P160,149,909.39 in august 2005. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
