Palace denies political vendetta over Binay's suspension
Manila (18 October) -- In answer to allegations that the Arroyo government is politically harassing Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay, Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye said the issue "is a matter of the rule of law and not the rule of men."
Saying "there is no political vendetta involved (in the issuance of the 60-day suspension order) and, hopefully, justice will be upheld," Bunye made clear that all procedures are being followed by the book.
He stressed "nobody's rights are being violated."
In fact, all legal avenues of relief is open, hence, calmness, prudence and sobriety should prevail in view of the order issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). (PIA-MMIO) [top]
