NVizcaya village guards get P1.5 million assistance
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (19 October) -- "Village guards(barangay tanods) in the province recently received P1.5 million fund assistance from the provincial government.
Governor Luisa Cuaresma said the funding assistance was taken from the loan savings of the provincial government.
The governor said the amount will be used for the purchase of uniforms, equipments and other paraphernalia needed by the barangay tanods in performing their duties as peace keepers in the villages.
The assistance came after the village guards in the 285 barangays of the province federated themselves in the provincial level.
With their federation, Cuaresma vowed to provide assistance to their organization since they are deputized as guardians of peace in their communities. (PIA Nizcaya) [top]
