5 pedestrian overpasses to rise in Dagupan
Dagupan City (19 October) -- Five pedestrian overpasses will be up in Dagupan City to ensure safety of people crossing the streets and help ease the flow of vehicular traffic along various highways heer, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)District Engineer Rodolfo Dion.
All these projects will be funded from the countryside development fund of Speaker Jose De Venecia, Jr., congressman of the fourth district of Pangasinan.
Dion said his office already received as initial P3 million from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to finance the construction of the first of these overpasses located near the Dagupan City National High school, along the busy Dagupan-Binmaley-Lingayen road.
This first overpass project is now under its pre-construction stage that includes the preparation of plans and programs of work before a abiding can be conducted for qualified contractors.
Dion said, the Dagupan City Engineering Office submitted its plans but which was reviewed and revised by his office.
Once finished the project will be used not only by students of the DCNHS but also from the Lyceum Northwestern University, Ednas School, Mothergoose Special Science High school and Dominican Schools as well as those going in and out of the Dagupan City Astrodome
Initially eyed as location of the four other overpasses are Arellano street, AB. Fernandez Avenue infront of the CSI market Square, in front of the Dagupan City cathedral and the West Central School and at the intersection of Perez Boulevard, MH Del Pilar and Mayombo Highway (Pangasinan) [top]
