CA holds Binay suspension
Quezon City (20 October) -- THE COURT of Appeals has stopped Malacaņang from enforcing a six-month preventive suspension against Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay.
Aside from the TRO, Binay has also been ordered to post a bond of 200,000 pesos to answer for the damages that may be sustained by the respondents because of this order.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and complainant Roberto Brillante are given 10 days to comment on Binay's petition and justify why the restraining order should be lifted. Binay has five days to reply to the comment.
This order is effective immediately, it said. (PIA) [top]
