CSC career service written examinations set on Sunday

San Fernando City, La Union (20 October) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will administer the Career Service Professional and Subprofessional Written Examination on Sunday, October 22, 2006 in 50 testing centers nationwide.

Here in the region, three testing centers were named - Lingayen in Pangasinan; San Fernando City, La Union and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

In the City of San Fernando, Ms. Josie Mambao, Division Chief, CSC Examination Division, said that the examination will be conducted at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) - Mid-La Union Campus where 900 examinees are expected, 675 for the Professional exam and 225 for the Sub-Professional.

The Career Service Professional Exam, will lasts for three hours covering vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic and numerical reasoning. Two hours and thirty minutes will be allotted for the Sub-Professional exam which will cover same subject areas excluding analogy and logic. The passing rate is at 80% of the total examination given, Mambao disclosed.

General Information questions on the Philippine Constitution; The Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713); Peace and human rights issues and concepts; and Environmental Management and Protection will be given to both levels.

All examinees are expected to be at their assigned examination centers at least one hour before the start of the exam which is at exactly 8:00 a.m. for the preliminary documentation. They should bring their notice of assignment; same valid ID card presented upon filing of application; lead pencils and erasers; and blue or black ballpen. Cellular phones are strictly not allowed during the exam.

Notices of Assignments for Region 1 have been distributed earlier to give the examinees a chance to check / verify their school and room assignments at any CSC Field office nearest their area, Mambao said. (PIA La Union) [top]
