NSO to hold 15th statistical quiz
Negros Occidental (20 October) -- The 15th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) spearheaded by the National Statistics Office will be held on October 26, 2006 at the Audio-Visual Room of Colegio San Agustin - Bacolod.
Different colleges and universities were invited to join the said activity. Each participating schools can send two contestants to vie for the provincial elimination. The top three contestants of the two-round contest will qualify for the regional elimination on November 14, 2006 in Iloilo City. The regional winner will represent Region VI to the National Finals on December 5, 2006 in Metro Manila.
Five colleges and universities had already signified their intentions to join the contest. Board of judges include Mr. Engiemar Tupas of Deaprtment of Trade and Industry, Mrs. Josette Terrora of Negros Occidental High School and Mr. Eusebio R. Gale of the National Statistics Office.
PSQ is an annual contest geared to test college freshmen students’ knowledge in Statistics. It is being conducted annually as part of the National Statistic Month Celebration. As per Presidential Proclamation Number 647 dated September 20, 1990, October was declared as National Statistics Month.
