Misorla to host librarians’ meet
Cagayan de Oro City (20 October) -- A seminar-workshop on “New approaches on measuring library performance in the 21st century” sponsored by the Misamis Oriental Librarians Association, Inc. (MISORLA) in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will be held on October 25-27 at the South East Asian Rural Social Leadership Institute (SEARSOLIN), Xavier University College of Agriculture Manresa Farm Complex, Fr. Masterson Avenue, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
The seminar-workshop is being held to promote a better understanding on the new approaches of measuring library performance. Some of the objectives are: to determine indicators of adequacy and effectiveness of library performance, utilize know-how of library performance to the accreditation process; understand e-metrics as the new language in assessing library performance; review existing standards; gain understanding of LIBQUAL and its relevance to Philippine Libraries.
Some of the speakers are: Corazon M. Nera, head of the Board for Librarians and director of Libraries Lyceum Foundation University; Eva Brillo, former Country Librarian of Thomas Jefferson Information Center and Director of Libraries, St. Scholastica College; Dr. Marianita D. Dablio, professor, Mindanao State University Polytechnic College; and Prof. Ivanhoe S. Oñate, Director of Libraries, Mindanao State University College. There will be sharing of accreditation experiences during the open forums.
