'It's hardly over,' says Palace exec on Binay reprieve
Quezon City (21 October) -- IT'S not yet a total victory for Makati Jejomar Binay even after the Court of Appeals granted his petition to stop his suspension, Palace officials warned.
"It's hardly over," Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said when asked if Binay could now consider the fight over.
Ermita said the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) would file a comment before the appeals court to lift the TRO.
In a separate interview, DILG Secretary Ronaldo Puno said there were other charges against Binay.
"The administrative action is still pending, it has not been extinguished, he has not been for example exonerated," Puno said.
Binay, his Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado, and 16 councilors were suspended this week over allegations that they were keeping "ghost employees." Binay has denied this. (PIA) [top]
