Antique cops told to intensify drives vs criminality, insurgency, terrorism
San Jose, Antique (23 October) -- The Antique PNP is concentrating its efforts in 3 key PNP priority program thrusts – anti-criminality, anti-terrorism and anti-insurgency thru intensified police operations and this may well be the guiding orders for law enforcers in the province.
“In reference to a memorandum from the Director for Operations on orders from the Chief, PNP PDirGen Oscar C Calderon, a Memorandum was received from Police Regional Office 6 Director PCSUPT Gearry L Barias, coursed thru the Chief of the Regional Operations and Plans Division (ROPD) PSSUPT Wesley A Barrayuga dated October 11 requiring all police offices and units to adhere to the PNP Priority Program Thrusts”, disclosed PSUPT Ranulfo I Demiar, Antique PNP Officer-in-Charge.
Among the Anti-Criminality operational thrusts were to reduce the incidence of street crimes thru increased police visibility, sustained night watch operations, continuous conduct of checkpoints and chokepoints operations, deployment of police operatives at places of public convergence and the establishment of police outposts at crime prone areas. Activities also include the continuous strengthening of police stations and intensified anti-crime operations against all forms of criminality in order to decrease Total Crime Volume coupled with the increase in the following solution of unsolved cases, arrest of Wanted Persons, neutralization of criminal gangs and Crime Solution Efficiency.
In Anti-Terrorism, sustained implementation of the PNP’s 3-Tierred Defense System thru Intelligence, Target Hardening and Incident Management remains the basic action framework in addition to the strengthening of intelligence sharing thru linkages with other regional intel community. In so far a Internal Security Operations (ISO) concerns, 8 anti-insurgency programs were identified to include the implementation of the Integrated Area – Community Public Safety Plan (IA/CPSP), organization of PNP Speaker’s Bureau, maintenance of Barangay Intel Network (BIN), legal offensive and others.
